COUNTRY OF BRAVE SOLDIERS

"It is a special gratification to me to be elected a freeman of the capital of the great country that has provided me with so many brave soldiers during the recent campaign. It is probably due to those men of the Camerons and the Seaforths that were with me at Atbara and Omdurman that I have the honour to-day to receive this gratification at your hands."
