Andrew Chesney was a saw-maker who lived in Mary King's Close and operated his business until 1892 He refused to sell to the Council and sold his premised to Mr. William Marshall, also a saw-maker, who lived and worked here until 1895. It is the last business which has survived in the Close until the late 19th century.
